Ellen Halkon
Chair of ICE Scotland, Associate Director at WSPEllen Halkon MEng CEng FICE is an Associate Director with WSP and has over 20 years' experience delivering major bridge, highway and transportation infrastructure projects across the UK and internationally. She leads multidisciplinary teams on the planning, design, assessment and assurance of complex bridge structures, with expertise spanning highway bridges, footbridges, rail structures and major transport infrastructure.
In addition to her industry leadership role, Ellen is the Chair of ICE Scotland 2024-2026, having previously served as Senior Vice Chair, Junior Vice Chair and Chair of the ICE Edinburgh Area Branch. Through ICE Scotland, she champions engineering excellence, professional development and the promotion of civil engineering's contribution to society.
Ellen is a Chartered Civil Engineer, Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Supervising Civil Engineer and passionate advocate for sustainable, resilient and innovative bridge engineering.
